On Monday at 6:32 p.m. EST an updated winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Tuesday at 1 a.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph and Berrien counties.
Tomorrow will be cold and blustery with localized lake snow showers. Any snow showers won't be too heavy but winds will still be gusting over 40mph at times causing blowing snow. Most of the snow showers will be focused to higher elevations. Highs will be in the mid 20s but wind chills will be in the single digits throughout the day.
The storm will bring widespread rain, strong to potentially damaging winds, rapidly falling temperatures, snow squalls and a risk of flash freezing, creating impacts on roads, air travel and the power infrastructure across Southeast Michigan.
An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 4:06 p.m. EST for blowing snow until 7:15 p.m. EST for Branch and Hillsdale counties.
Accumulations will range from 1 to 3 inches for most north to a coating to 2 inches south. Not a lot, but certainly enough to cause some messy travel. Plan on plenty of extra travel time over the next few hours. Most are under a Winter Weather Advisory with an Ice Storm Warning for McKean County in northern PA.

State area, with the worst expected to strike between Friday evening and early Saturday, with parts of the area on track to receive around a foot of snow if the heaviest bands deliver on their potential.
Winter storm watches have been upgraded to warnings for 8 New Jersey counties expecting 4 to 8 inches of snow starting Friday afternoon.
The First Alert meteorologists are tracking a storm now located on the West Coast. Consequently, this storm is still three days away from potentially reaching Western New York, and there is still a lot of uncertainty about the timing and the ultimate track.
