Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua escaped with minor injuries in a car crash that killed two of his friends and team members on Monday, according to Nigerian authorities and his promotor.

Anthony Joshua’s car crash in Nigeria, which killed two of his close friends, was caused by a tyre blowout, police have confirmed.

The former world champion was a passenger in a Lexus SUV that collided with a stationary truck on a major expressway in Ogun State, near Lagos, on Monday.
